Quiff

A men's Quiff haircutting course for hairdressers. Learn to build a stable shape on coarse, stubborn hair and master two fade techniques: descending and guard skipping.

About the course

The Quiff is a classic men's haircut that solves the problem of coarse, unruly hair clients struggle to manage on a daily basis. The course shows how to build a stable, lightweight shape based on two key forms: a triangle on the vertical plane and a square on the horizontal plane, so the haircut falls predictably and with character.

Miłosz Mikołajczak guides you through the entire process, starting with active cutting on wet hair, where he builds the top shape from the stationary guide at the crown. A key element of the course is a demonstration of two different fade-building techniques on a single model: the descending method on one side and guard skipping on the other. Miłosz explains when and why to choose each one, depending on the client's hair type and colour.

In this course, you'll see

  • Two fade-building techniques on a single model: descending for light, fine hair and guard skipping for dark, thick hair
  • Building a square on the horizontal plane - why keeping the comb parallel to the ceiling is key to a correct shape
  • Creating a triangle on the vertical plane, starting from the fringe, to avoid the effect where the back sits higher than the front
  • Using the comb to diagnose head shape and determine the minimum hair length needed to hold the shape
  • Working with point cutting on wet hair and pointing on dry hair to give the haircut lightness and structure from the very start
  • Full styling with a pre-styler - how to blow-dry hair in the opposite direction to build maximum volume at the root

After this course, you'll start building the quiff with intention - as a system based on geometry, not chance. You'll learn to match the fade technique to your client's hair structure and colour, which will speed up your work and raise its quality. Instead of fighting coarse, unruly hair, you'll turn it into an asset, creating a stable haircut that's easy to style every day.
