About the educator
Artur Głażewski, known in the industry as Barberzyńca, has been cutting hair since the age of fourteen. He started out learning technique from videos, watching American barbers for hours a day, then trained across Europe, including under Nikolaj Generalov. He runs the Barberzyńca salon in Olsztyn and founded the Institute of Modern Barbering. He was part of the FIAM national hairdressing team, judged Barber Fest in Kraków, and sits on the BCU ZDZ Council. His competitive strength is hair tattoo: he holds Polish champion titles in this category, first-place wins in the Old-School and Razor Fade competitions in Rome, and the international hair tattoo competition in Albania, plus Combo Skinfade awards in Katowice. He runs the Fade Logic course on layering techniques, BarBeard on beard layering and geometry, and the from-scratch course From Zero to Barber. His approach is built on combining technique, geometry, observation, and practice.
He explains the process, not just the move. With every decision, he states the reasoning behind it, and keeps coming back to head shape as the reference point. He works with beginners and with barbers looking to raise the technical level of their work alike.
What you will learn
- 01
Shape Before Length
You'll learn his method for choosing the base clipper guard to match head shape and facial proportions, instead of always reaching for the same one.
- 02
The Line-Up as a Boundary
You'll find out why he marks the line-up before the zero line, and what sets a buzz cut apart from a flat top.
- 03
The Math of Guards and Blade
You'll learn to calculate the transitions between clipper guards, instead of guessing which number will blend out the line.
- 04
Removing the Line Without Ruining the Segment
You'll understand the rule he keeps returning to throughout the course: remove the line below without cutting into the segment above.
- 05
Symmetry from Reference Points
You'll master deriving symmetry from the eyebrow, the brow arch, and the corner of the eye, instead of eyeballing it.
- 06
The Hair Tattoo Design
You'll see how he preps the base for the design, cuts it dry using part of the blade, and sharpens it with a liner pencil.
