About the educator
Gracjan Fogiel is a barber and men's hairdresser. He works at Future Men's Hair Studio in Poznan, a barbershop run by Marek Krzyminski, a Connected Hair educator. The studio also runs its own training program. He started at 15, cutting his friends' hair in basements, and took his first big professional steps in Krakow. He has been in hairdressing for seven years: three years of vocational school and four years of professional work, mostly in men's cutting, from fades to longer hair. For more than a year and a half he has been teaching one-to-one and in groups, and he publishes educational videos on social media. On Instagram he describes his approach in these words: "I teach how you can create any haircut using fundamental knowledge." In June 2026 he worked on the Friends stage at Barber Night S6 in Warsaw.
Before cutting he talks through the hair structure, the shape of the client's face and head and what the haircut should reveal. At every section he checks whether the line of the guide is sharp and explains where the haircut has its shape and where its technique. He builds texture with the razor by adjusting the length of the stroke, the direction the blade enters and the pressure.
What you will learn
- 01
Analysis before cutting
He teaches how to build a cutting plan from the face shape, the forehead profile, where the weight sits on the head and what the haircut should reveal, before the first cut.
- 02
Nape disconnection
He shows how to leave long, dense hair at the nape that holds down the cowlicks, and how to mark its line with a razor.
- 03
The guide and elevation
He teaches a simple test: when the line of the guide is sharp, the elevation is right and you can cut. At every section he watches the position of the client's head.
- 04
Razor work
He explains how the direction the razor enters sets the curl of the ends, how the length of the stroke controls the texture and why the blade is guided by the weight of the hand alone.
- 05
Loose haircuts without clippers
He teaches how to build texture and lightness with scissors and a razor, and how to style on wet hair so the client can style the cut at home.
