Italian Bob
Creativity based on technical knowledge and a conscious approach to form. Hairdressing understood as a process, not a set of patterns.
The result and the process
The Italian Bob is a classic cut that addresses the issue of flat, lifeless hair by strategically creating weight at the bottom and lightness at the top. The course demonstrates how to combine precise line technique with a square layer on wavy or straight hair to create a hairstyle full of movement and volume that the client can easily style every day.
Paweł Rup guides you through the entire process, from consulting and diagnosing the “pancake effect” problem, through the precise division of the head into line and layer sections, all the way to the final styling. You’ll see how the lower section, cut using the line technique, creates a solid foundation and the weight of the bob, while the upper section, styled in a square layer, lightens the interior and gives the hairstyle natural movement.
In this course, you'll learn:
- The "invisible bangs" technique – how to section off and cut a short strand that, when swept back, frames the face but remains invisible on a daily basis
- A precise division of the head into four zones based on anatomy—the occipital bone and the curve of the head—as the foundation for building weight and lightness
- Building a line with a break – why each subsequent segment is cut 0.5 cm longer to create a curve and avoid a flat shape
- Work in a square section (at a 90-degree angle to the head) using vertical sections to remove bulk from the interior of the hairstyle without losing length
- A styling technique that combines a diffuser with irregularly wrapped strands around a brush – how to achieve a natural, effortless look with movement and volume
- A recessed crown in the 180-degree projection, serving as the final detail that connects the upper section to the back and adds lightness to the crown
- Cutting bangs using the sliding technique to give them lightness and direction without shortening the base length
After watching this course, you’ll learn to consciously manage the weight and volume of a hairstyle, turning flat hair into an asset. You’ll learn how to create a bob with a solid foundation and dynamic volume, and the “invisible bangs” technique will become your go-to tool for crafting modern, easy-to-style cuts that clients will love for their versatility.

Full access to the course
The concept of invisible bangs
"We'll try to make the bangs very short—almost invisible."
Creating a cut line fillet
"We won't cut it down to the memory limit; we'll just give ourselves a little more space."
The key principle of bandwidth redirection
"The comb doesn't move left or right anymore. It only moves back and forth."
Adding volume to the front of the hairstyle
"We do this so that, when viewed from the front, the hairstyle simply appears wider."
Why Avoid Horizontal Separation
"When creating layers on longer hair like this, I never cut horizontally."
The effect of bangs that aren't there
"Our bangs start around the jawline, so we have them and don't have them at the same time."
Why do we start drying with the bangs?
"These bangs are always the hardest to style and take the longest to dry."
Sealing the hair cuticle with cold air
"Finally, we'll use some cool air to seal the hair cuticle."
