The middle part is a classic men’s haircut, which in this course we style on hair with excess volume at the back and a tendency to stick up at the nape of the neck. The goal is to achieve lightness, texture, and natural movement that the client can easily recreate on a daily basis. The course demonstrates how to consciously simplify the cutting process, moving away from a thousand sections in favor of logic and precision that actually works.

Damian Zakrzewski guides you step by step through the entire process: from assessing the shape of the head and nape, through his proprietary division from the highest point of the head to the ear, all the way to creating a square shape at the back that visually fills out the sides. The work is done in sections running perpendicular to the head, with constant shifts in body position, which is key to maintaining clean, square geometry without rounding the corners.

In this course, you'll learn:

  • A unique way to divide the hair from the highest point to the ear – why this method prevents "gaps" in the back when styling a middle part
  • Building a square shape at the back of the head, section by section, to visually fill in the sides and tame flyaways
  • Working with a hairpart split down the middle – how to stay on track and maintain precision throughout the entire haircut
  • Why is body position and moving along with the strand being cut necessary to create a square shape rather than a rounded one?
  • Using a Chinese knife to soften ends and reduce volume without losing length – when and how to use it to avoid causing damage
  • A complete styling routine using sea salt and powder to achieve a light, natural "wind-swept" look

After completing this course, you’ll start approaching classic styles in a simplified and logical way, focusing on efficiency rather than complicated classifications. You’ll learn how to build a stable, square foundation at the back, consciously manage volume using a Chinese razor, and create hairstyles that not only look great right out of the salon but are also easy for the client to style at home.
