A women's disconnected haircut course. See how to create flat sides and a top full of movement, solving the problem of hair that grows out sideways.
Result and process
About the course
Dynamic Disconnected Cut is a technique for building a short women's hairstyle that solves the problem of hair growing out "sideways." The course shows how to intentionally use disconnection to create flat, close-lying sides and a dynamic, movement-full top that remains the longest element of the entire shape, giving the client ease in everyday styling.
Klaudia Piotrowicz guides you through the entire cutting process step by step: from sectioning off the stationary guide and working wet according to the head shape, through cleaning up the sides with scissors over comb for a soft, natural line-up, to creating disconnection using a zigzag-shaped parting. This technique allows for elevating the longer top while keeping a flat shape on the sides that the client can easily style at home.
In the course you'll see
- Creating disconnection using a dense, zigzag-shaped parting - why this prevents a "chopped-off" fringe effect and builds volume
- Cleaning up the sides with scissors over comb for a natural transition without hard lines and the contrast typical of clippers
- The flat layering technique that controls hair growing outward and helps the hairstyle hold its shape longer
- Working wet with the stationary guide, which acts as a guideline for the whole shape, while simultaneously lengthening the front
- Personalizing dry - how notching and point cutting add texture and lightness without shortening the length you've worked for
- Guiding the scissors flat against the skin when shortening hair at the hairline, to elevate the longer section on top
- Final styling with sea salt spray and matte paste - how to apply product so the hair cooperates when styling
After this course, you'll start using disconnection with intention - not as a trick, but as a fundamental tool for building the shape of a short haircut. You'll learn to create cuts full of dynamics and texture that solve specific client problems - like hair growing out sideways - and that are easy for them to style every day.

1:1101Planning the disconnection and shape
There'll be disconnection between the line at the hairline and the top.
6:2902Lengthening the front section
Here I'm lengthening the front. I'm not cutting it to shape here - I'm lengthening it.
15:3103Cleaning up the line-up down to zero with scissors
To clean this down to zero, I hold the scissors against the skin.
24:5004Creating a soft disconnection with a zigzag
I'll section this off with a very delicate, dense zigzag.
29:0305Using sea salt spray before drying
I spray lightly with sea salt spray, to give it a bit of that hold.
32:4206Comb personalizing technique
I run the comb along the scalp. Scissors behind the comb.
35:4307Reducing unwanted volume
There was this very strong volume building up here, which we don't want.
39:0508Key rule for styling with paste
Distribute the product over the whole head first, and only style it afterward.
