Result and process
About the course
The Textured Mullet with Graduation is a modern take on a classic cut that solves the problem of flat, straight client hair. This course shows you how to use the round graduation technique to work with intention when building weight and volume at the nape, while creating light, dynamic texture on top and throughout the style using a texturizing razor.
Anastasiia Verbitskaya guides you through the entire process step by step: from precise sectioning with a triangular section at the crown, through building the shape with round graduation and a one-section redirection, to working the top in two planes - round for movement and square in profile to preserve a heavy fringe. Wet-cutting techniques with shears flow seamlessly into dry work with clippers and a texturizing razor for the final texture refinement.
In this course, you'll see
- Building volume at the nape using the round graduation technique with a one-section back redirection
- Working with a texturizing razor to create a light, textured fringe and a clean, natural neckline contour
- Working with intention to combine two shapes on top: a circle for movement and a square in profile to preserve a heavy fringe
- The key role of the triangular section at the crown in the process of building weight at the back
- Finishing the style dry - how to create a light, natural taper at the temples using clipper-over-comb
- Final styling using a diffuser to bring out maximum texture from straight hair
- A method for removing disconnection between the top and sides using the slicing technique
After this course, you'll start using round graduation with intention to sculpt volume exactly where it's needed, and the texturizing razor will become your go-to tool for adding lightness and character to straight hair. You'll be able to offer clients a modern, texture-full mullet that's both technically advanced and easy to style day-to-day.

The rest of the cutting will be done with the texturizing razor blade, to give it a lighter structure.
